The map is extended east to include all of Nova Scotia and further north to include Anticosti Island. New inset maps are added of Environs of Montreal, Lake Superior, and the Niagara District, and the other insets of Newfoundland and British North America are thoroughly revised. The changes to the U.S./Canadian boundaries in Oregon (1846) and Maine (1842) are shown, as well as the first three, short Canadian railways (compared to a large number shown underway in the U.S.).
